11 ways to write online content to get engagement

Join the countdown! The Social media SOS Content Writing Challenge is back on April 29

“Your goal should be to own quality time in your customer’s inbox.” – TPLDrew. Isn’t this a great online content idea?!

But how exactly do you do that? And why do you need to write good quality content?

Good content has many benefits, including building brand reputation, driving traffic to the business website, or attracting the audience to buy products or services. But if you aim to get more engagement as well as create an amazing online presence, writing good content is, in reality, what you need to do.

More engagement also means enhanced visibility. When your audience finds your content appealing, it increases the content’s reach.

So, what are some different ways to write online content to get more engagement and enhanced online presence?

SURPRISE YOUR AUDIENCE

People always love surprises. A surprising post can help you attract attention. And, because you surprised them, they are likely to reward you by recognising it through comments or shares.

ACKNOWLEDGE THE OPINIONS OF YOUR READERS

You can start or end your content by asking your readers with a question. This way, you can get them more engaged in the conversation.

For example, you can ask “what health tips have you found useful?”. In return, you can naturally prompt your readers to respond.

CREATE INTERACTIVE ONLINE CONTENT

You can get the readers involved by creating interactive content. This is where you can create a survey or quiz that can help you evaluate the current needs of your readers or reflect the opinions of your readers.

STIR UP CONTROVERSIES

Articles that contain controversies appear to be more attractive to the readers. You can look for topics that offer two sides of the arguments. Then, share your opinion.

INCLUDE DIFFERENT CONTENT MEDIUMS

By enlisting more content mediums to your articles, you can attract a more significant number of readers. You can use video content or in-depth written features. Remember, readers have different preferences, so giving them variations is a great help for them.

CONSIDER CONTENT THAT TARGETS THE NEEDS OF YOUR READERS

If you can successfully get more engagement and improve your online presence through content marketing, you will be able to promote loyalty and familiarity. When users feel they are an integral part of your brand, it drives their purchasing decisions. What more can you be doing for your audience?

INCORPORATE IMAGERY

Remember, people are visual, so expect that they are more interested in contents that pop out with images. By adding images, you can create a good impression, too.

STRUCTURE THE POSTS

When posting your content, make sure it is organised and written in an efficient format. You can break the content up to small paragraphs together with headlines and sub-headers to make it easy to read.

WRITE AN AWESOME HEADLINE

Your content’s headline is responsible for creating a good impression. If the readers find it interesting and clear, they read the entire article. Also, make sure to include keywords in your headers.

CONSIDER KEYWORD-RICH PHRASES

HOT TIP: Use keyword rich and relevant phrases throughout your content. Include them in the header, lead sentence in the body of the content to help the readers determine what your post is all about and help search engines index it.

PROPEL CONTENT WITH SOCIAL MEDIA

Different social media platforms can help you increase engagement and the reach of your online content. Also, it promotes sharing efficiently. Remember to use a strong call-to-action and engaging descriptions.

With the above content writing tips, there is no way you can’t have an awesome online presence and acquire more engagement from your content.
