3 things I got right to set up my business for 2018

In business there’s a lot of hits and a lot of misses on the road to success … and just when you think you have the perfect formula, something changes (like a Facebook algorithm!).

Hands up if you agree with me on this?

I can’t tell you the number of misses I’ve had and the mistakes I’ve made in my almost-5-year career as a business owner.

Just this morning, I was thinking about it this morning and it’s going to be a book one day I’m sure!

There were missed opportunities because I was too slow in getting back to someone, I lost money because I didn’t listen to my gut, I started with working with someone because I was told to rather than thinking about I wanted to, I did things backward, I didn’t plan, I got caught up in the hype!

You know the story.

Thankfully though, all of my “mistakes” and I prefer to think of them as learning opportunities … it has a nicer ring to it, don’t you think … have got to where I am now.

And thankfully I also had some incredible wins and did a few things right!

So I wanted to share them with you one business owner to another because sharing is caring and I hope you can take something away from what I’m about to say.

3 things I did to set up my business growth for 2018 (that you can do right now):

1 Shared my knowledge through meaningful ways

My business EC Writing Services and now Wow School Global has always been about content and content writing … it’s what has propelled me and my profile and also help us as a business and team.

This year the trend is to be more connected through your content and now just share information or educate. And so I started to stand for something, I started to have a meaningful opinion and I started to share that in my content.

It’s really important as a business owner who creates content to have a voice and understand the impact they could have on someone’s life.

Just this alone has allowed us to create new products and deliver our right message through more meaningful words.

2 Started living the dream I’ve wanted for almost 5 years:

The whole reason I started my business was so that I could work from home or anywhere in the world.

Over the last 5 years I have been striving to get there. It was only at Christmas 2017 that realised I was actually there!

I just needed to make a few changes to take my business more into the online workshop space and I could authentically live this life!

So I simply made the decision to do it and, voila, here I am living my wow life.

DISCLAIMER … my wow life might be different to yours and that’s ok.

3 Enlisted in the help of someone who had gone before me:

I have always been a big believer in learning something quickly so I have get a faster result. That’s why we get coaches and so online courses. We enlist the help of someone who has gone before us so we don’t make their mistakes.

When I wanted to run workshops, learn more marketing or hone in on my systems and processes, I stalked people I knew who were where I wanted to be.

I suggest you do this too and if you need more help with your voice, message and writing wow words, why don’t we have a chat and we can figure out if I can help you? Simply get in touch hand ask for a STAR Disco session.

I hope this has encouraged you to take some action for your own wow life and business.
